Attitude of Gratitude

Attitude of Gratitude

Do you appreciate all that you have or do you constantly wish for more? Do you often think once I get ……. I will be happy! Or do you look at what you have every day and smile with joy?

How often do you express gratitude?  Do you feel it but not you express it?

After all, everything that you have in your life is a reflection of your own energy.  Once you start to be grateful for all you have, your vibrational energy changes and you start to attract more positivity.  Research shows that people that feel and show gratitude are the most happiest.  Have you heard the saying “Happiness is a journey not a destination”.

We live in a world of increasing excess, everyone competes to do more, work harder, earn more, have a bigger house or a better car.  We are now seeking happiness in purchases and in our quest to buy more we are overlooking the free natural simple things that already exist in the world.

Rather than trying to obtain more stuff shouldn’t we be placing our energy into our relationships?  Instead of trying to get rich, be rich in all the things that money cannot buy!  Because it is only in those things that we can truly find happiness.

Competition can be healthy but rather than compete with others, focus on being a better version of you!  In this scenario everyone wins!!!

Feeling and expressing gratitude is a great way to start the cycle of joy.  When you give and receive thanks, the positive emotional effect makes you want to repeat the gesture and the more you give the more you receive. Positivity breeds positivity!  So with all this positivity in the air I am setting my wonderful YogaXtend students a challenge, an Attitude of Gratitude Challenge!

Every day when you wake up, I want you to repeat to yourself (or even better write down ) three things that you are grateful for, the only rule is it has to be organic (meaning it cannot be something that you can purchase but could be your beautiful flowers in your garden for example.)  It could be the health of your body, the love you share with someone, your family/friends, the sun etc.   You can chose to repeat these three things every day or chose three ones each day.

By end of April you will feel happier, more peaceful & grateful for all you are and all you have.  After all, the real essence of Yoga is to be the best version of you.

Yoga is not just a practice for the mat, in everyday life, you should be thankful first to the body, your mind and your spirit that enables you to practice.  Join me in this challenge, after all what a great way to start a new season!

Jennie and I will be cultivating this Attitude of Gratitude in our classes for the whole of April.

Happy Easter, Happy April and Happy Attitude of Gratitude Challenge.
